La organización Médicos Sin Fronteras (MSF) rescató este miércoles a unos 87 migrantes hallados a bordo de un bote inflable en el mar de Libia, mientras escapaban hacia Europa.
La operación, realizada con apoyo aéreo, la evidenció esta organización a través de un video e imágenes publicados, en los que se observa a decenas de migrantes saltando al mar desde el bote sobrecargado.
Asimismo, a través de la red social X, antes Twitter, la institución sin fines de lucro refirió que los migrantes dijeron a los rescatistas que preferían morir en el mar que regresar a Libia.

Según agregó MSF, en otra publicación, a todos los tripulantes del bote, visiblemente sobrecargado, se les rescató y se les llevó a bordo del barco Geo Barents.
Sin embargo, a la par de anunciar el rescate de casi un centenar de migrantes, la organización Médicos Sin Fronteras denunció también que la presencia de un barco del Aparato de Apoyo a la Estabilidad (SSA, en inglés), del Gobierno de Libia, puso en peligro la seguridad de los migrantes, así como del equipo de rescate. Varios se lanzaron al mar.
Ello, según acotó, debido a las maniobras de aproximación que realizaron a la zona. Así como su presencia, ante el temor de quienes buscaban escapar del país africano.
Mediterráneo, el más peligroso
Desde 2014, la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) ha registrado más de 20 mil muertes y desapariciones en el Mediterráneo central. Lo que lo convierte en el cruce de migrantes más peligroso del mundo.
En tanto que Italia ha instado a Túnez y Libia a hacer más para evitar que los posibles migrantes se lancen al mar. También ha tomado medidas enérgicas contra las operaciones de los barcos de rescate, diciendo que fomentan que las personas se dirijan a Europa. Algo que las organizaciones benéficas niegan.
