Xalapa, Ver., 24 de julio de 2024.- Con una gran participación ciudadana, la Secretaría de Medio Ambiente llevará a cabo la primera gran reforestación del año este domingo, con la meta de plantar 68 mil árboles de clima templado-frío y bosque mesófilo en 75.5 hectáreas de 34 municipios.
Del 22 al 28 de julio, el Gobierno de Veracruz celebra la Semana de Reforestación Masiva en la que otros 723 mil 827 ejemplares abarcarán 804.2 hectáreas, labor en la que participan municipios, silvicultores y sociedad civil organizada a fin de conservar los ecosistemas y contrarrestar los efectos del cambio climático.
La prioridad es restaurar áreas afectadas por los incendios forestales con variedades de agapando, ahuehuete, araucaria, ciprés, ficus, frijolillo, guayaba, liquidámbar, haya, ocote, pino rojo, pitanga, pomarrosa y cinco hojas.
Para agilizar el proceso en sitios de difícil acceso, 18 drones adaptados en los institutos tecnológicos de Coatzacoalcos, Gutiérrez Zamora, Poza Rica, Veracruz, la Universidad Tecnológica del Centro de Veracruz y el CONALEP dispersarán 155.6 kilogramos de semillas pregerminadas.
El gobernador Cuitláhuac García Jiménez reconoció el apoyo de los planteles de Educación Superior en la aplicación de los conocimientos adquiridos por los estudiantes, así como la recolección y selección de árboles en los campus de Huatusco, Jesús Carranza, Las Choapas, Perote y Zongolica.
